Asking your knowledge

Search, chat with citations, and keep answers grounded in what you saved.

Pocketmind answers from your library. Prefer questions that name a topic, source, or decision you already saved material for.

Semantic search

Search by meaning, not only keywords. Try phrases like "pricing experiments from Q3 notes" even if those exact words never appeared in a title.

RAG chat

Open chat and ask naturally. Strong prompts look like:

  • "What did I save about vector databases, and which sources disagree?"
  • "Draft talking points for tomorrow using only my competitor research folder."
  • "Cite the PDF page where the sample size is defined."

When citations appear, open them. If an answer has no sources, treat it as incomplete and rephrase with a tighter scope.

Collections

Regular collections can scope chat when the assistant source picker offers them. Smart collections are library views (filters that update as items change) — use them to browse and find material, then ask chat about that topic or pick a regular collection if you need a hard scope.

Tips for grounded answers

  • Save the source before you ask.
  • Name the topic — or a regular collection — in the question when you need a tighter scope.
  • Ask for citations when you need to verify.
  • Prefer primary sources over social summaries for decisions.
