Getting started

Create an account, save a trusted source, and ask your first grounded question.

Pocketmind is a second brain for articles, PDFs, images, audio, and notes. You save sources once, then ask AI over your knowledge base — with answers you can trace back to what you saved.

1. Create your account

  1. Open the Pocketmind web app.
  2. Sign up with email or your preferred provider.
  3. Land in an empty library — that is expected.

2. Save your first source

Pick something you already trust: a paper, a long article, or a PDF you keep reopening.

  • Paste a URL into capture — Pocketmind fetches and processes it.
  • Upload a PDF for OCR and full-text search.
  • On mobile, share a link via the PWA share target when available (file shares are not ingested that way yet).

After save, Pocketmind summarizes, tags, and embeds the content so it becomes searchable and chat-ready. See Saving content for every capture path.

3. Ask a grounded question

Open chat and ask something you would normally dig through bookmarks to answer, for example:

  • "What were the three main findings in the paper I just saved?"
  • "Summarize the methodology section and cite the page."

Good answers should cite your sources. Details in Asking your knowledge.

4. Optional: connect an agent

If you use Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client, connect Pocketmind as a context layer so agents retrieve from your library instead of the open web. See MCP for agents.
